George Findley Mill

This mill was first constructed about 1760 by George Findley or Finley. The dam still stands on the Reedy Fork just upstream of High Rock Road in Guilford County. Johnson (1895) called this Doggett Mill. The mill building was built about 1910. Milling ceased about 1950 (per Preservation North Carolina Website).

This mill was recently sold through Preservation North Carolina and it appears that the dam may be put into microhydroelectric service.
