Hadley Mill

This mill was near the spot now known as Moosejaw Falls. Referred to as Williams and Co. in the 1880 Agricultural Census, this mill was on the left bank. Swain (1899) described this mill as “very much in need of repair.” Its dam was 7 feet high at a very wide part of the river called Seven Islands.

The first mill here was built by Gideon Kirksey (Orange Ct Min Feb 1765).
